Greek Turkey Sliders

Greek Turkey Sliders

When I started this weight loss journey, one thing I thought I would miss more than most things was burgers — which is funny to me now, because I would rather have a turkey burger 90% of the time. I genuinely think it tastes better. Crazy! So when I'm having a craving, I know I can easily make something myself, be in control of portion and ingredients, and still be totally satisfied.

Anyway, I adapted this Greek Turkey Burger recipe from Budget Bytes and I love it! The sun-dried tomatoes give it this sweetness that adds such flavor, and I have found that I don't even need an egg or breadcrumbs to hold the patties together.

Greek Turkey Sliders

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

For the sauce:

  • 1 container plain non-fat greek yogurt (0 SmartPoints, makes 5 servings)
  • 1/4 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 lemon or 1 tbsp squeeze lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp pink sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper

For the sliders:

Directions:

  1. Combine greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt and pepper; then mix and divide into five servings (store remaining four servings in fridge as a dip for veggies later)
  2. Coat a pan with spray olive oil and put on medium-high heat
  3. In a bowl, combine turkey, feta, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, onions, salt and pepper
  4. Mush together with your hands and form two small patties
  5. Heat patties on the pan on each side for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown
  6. While that is cooking, cut your roll in half and toast to desired crispiness
  7. Place each patty on one half of the roll, top with sauce, and serve with veggies
